Description

The MXLink RT6000 Ex is a heavy-duty, flameproof industrial real-time wireless communication terminal engineered for mission-critical PLC and industrial automation control loops. Positioned as the explosion-proof variant within MAXON’s proprietary MXLink RT (Real-Time) series, this terminal is purpose-built for core control deployments in hazardous areas where combustible gases, volatile vapors, or ignitable dust are present—such as chemical processing, oil fields, underground mining, and utility corridors.
The MXLink RT6000 Ex delivers fully transparent Industrial Ethernet protocol transmission, completely eliminating the need for application-layer protocol conversion while preserving the facility's legacy control architectures. By integrating dual-link redundancy, Time-Division Duplexing (TDD) timeslot scheduling, deterministic PLC pacing/cyclic learning, and edge buffering technologies, the terminal seamlessly handles high-speed automation traffic optimized for 4 ms cyclic configurations, guaranteeing zero-handover connectivity, ultra-low packet loss, and minimal jitter.
Encased in a premium 304 stainless steel enclosure, the device is certified to Ex db IIC T6 Gb and Ex tb IIIC T80°C Db standards and rated at IP68 Ingress Protection. It is fully ruggedized to resist corrosion, mold, moisture, and high-energy surge impacts, ensuring reliable field deployment in the harshest industrial climates.

Features

  • Hazardous Area Certified: Ex db IIC T6 Gb / Ex tb IIIC T80°C Db certified for Zone 1, 2, 21, and 22 field deployments.
  • Deterministic Automation Wireless: Optimized specifically for high-speed industrial I/O and PLC applications requiring 4 ms cyclic updates.
  • Dual-Link Redundancy (PRP-like): Employs "dual-transmit, selective-receive" mechanisms across concurrent 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands to drastically reduce single-channel packet loss.
  • PLC Pacing & TDD Scheduling: Autonomously learns PLC cyclic communication intervals and applies deterministic time-slot scheduling to maintain predictable data delivery over the air.
  • Jitter Mitigation Engine: Combines transparent data bridging with deep local edge caching and proactive compensation to eliminate radio-induced jitter.
  • Flexible Interfaces & Powering: Equipped with dual gigabit backhaul options (including a 1 Gbps SFP slot) and supports versatile 48V PoE++ or 24V DC inputs.
