Challenges Faced by Traditional Wind Power Generation
With the continuous expansion of wind power generation, wind farms are typically located in remote, vast, and complex environments. Traditional manual inspection and wired network deployment models face significant challenges: low operation and maintenance efficiency, slow response speed, and the inability to achieve real-time monitoring of wind turbine operating status and surrounding environment.

Intelligent Wireless Solution
Maxon designed an intelligent operation and maintenance management solution for a wind power plant, achieving a stable, reliable, and comprehensive wireless network.
Maxon's high-performance industrial routers and switches are deployed in the wind farm monitoring center, acting as the brain of the entire network, responsible for data aggregation, network management, communication with the upper-level dispatch system, and secure external connections.
Industrial-grade long-range wireless bridges are used to build a high-speed wireless "data highway" between adjacent wind turbines and between wind turbine clusters and the monitoring center, forming a reliable transmission backbone link.
Industrial-grade wireless APs are installed at the top of each wind turbine tower or inside the nacelle, forming a wireless Mesh network or point-to-multipoint network covering the entire wind farm. This ensures seamless wireless signal coverage in the areas around the wind turbines, substations, and maintenance roads.
Industrial switches are deployed inside each wind turbine, responsible for local aggregation of various sensor data such as nacelle vibration, blade stress, gearbox oil temperature, and pitch control system data, as well as video surveillance data from inside the tower and at the base. The aggregated data is transmitted point-to-point back to the wind farm monitoring center through wireless transmission equipment deployed at the top of the tower.
